There are few things more rewarding than seeing your children grow up and value their health in a way you’ve tried to teach them. Teaching your family members the benefits of natural essential oils is a great way to start them off right and put them in control of their overall wellness.

Because essential oils are all-natural, they are safe for any age, and even when pregnant or nursing.

The topical application of essential oils is one of the most popular uses and has many benefits. However, because essential oils are highly concentrated and potent, it’s important to understand how to dilute when necessary. A good rule of thumb is to use less rather than more.

Here is a guide for topical use for your teenagers and young adult children:

Ages 12-75+

Neat: No dilution is needed

Sensitive: 5-10 drops carrier to 1 drop essential oil

Recommended: Do not apply more than 3-5 times throughout the day. Up to 4-10 drops per application.

If your older children are interested in starting their essential oil journey, here are the top oils we would recommend to get them started:

Lavender Loyol

This is probably the first oil that comes to mind for newcomers. It’s a beautiful addition to anyone’s supply. You can diffuse for a peaceful scent, or apply to skin to soothe dry or irritated skin.

Lemon Loyol

Lemon is so versatile and a great oil to have on hand when trying to make the switch from toxic chemical cleaners to a more natural approach.

Guardian Loyol

Naturally boost your immune system with this powerhouse blend! Multiple oils may overwhelm a newbie, and a blend puts everything good into one bottle.
